This Return, RTO (Return to Origin) & Reverse Logistics Policy outlines the terms governing return shipments and reverse pickups facilitated through Transpoship Private Limited (“Transpoship”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

By using our platform, you agree to the terms stated below.

1. Nature of Services

Transpoship operates as a shipping aggregator platform that enables forward and reverse logistics through third-party courier partners.

  • Transpoship does not directly handle shipments
  • All return and reverse logistics services are executed by courier partners
  • Availability of reverse pickup depends on courier partner serviceability

2. Return to Origin (RTO)

What is RTO?

RTO (Return to Origin) occurs when a shipment cannot be delivered to the consignee and is returned to the sender.

Common Reasons for RTO

  • Customer unavailable after multiple delivery attempts
  • Incorrect or incomplete delivery address
  • Customer refuses delivery
  • Delivery location not serviceable
  • COD order rejection

3. RTO Charges

RTO shipments may incur the following charges:

  • Forward shipping charges (original shipment)
  • Return shipping charges (return to sender)
  • Additional handling or surcharge fees (if applicable)

These charges may be deducted from the user’s wallet or invoiced to the user.

4. RTO Processing Timeline

  • RTO initiation begins after delivery attempts are exhausted
  • Return transit timelines are generally similar to forward delivery timelines
  • Delays may occur due to operational or external factors

Transpoship does not guarantee specific RTO delivery timelines.

5. Reverse Logistics (Return Pickup)

Reverse Pickup Service

Transpoship enables users, especially e-commerce sellers, to schedule reverse pickups from customers.

Availability

  • Courier partner support
  • Pickup location serviceability

Reverse Pickup Process

  • User schedules reverse pickup through the platform
  • Courier partner attempts pickup from the customer’s address
  • Shipment is returned to the seller’s specified address

6. Reverse Pickup Attempts

  • Courier partners typically attempt pickup 2–3 times
  • If unsuccessful, the reverse shipment may be:
  • Cancelled
  • Marked as failed pickup

Additional charges may apply for reattempts.

7. Charges for Reverse Logistics

Reverse logistics charges may include:

  • Reverse shipping charges
  • Pickup fees
  • Fuel surcharge
  • Taxes and applicable GST

All charges will be visible during booking or applied post-service where applicable.

8. Packaging Responsibility

  • Customers and sellers must ensure proper packaging for return shipments
  • Items must be securely packed before pickup
  • Transpoship and courier partners are not liable for damage caused due to poor packaging or improper sealing

9. Non-Serviceable Returns

  • Reverse pickup may not be available in some locations
  • Users may need to arrange self-ship returns
  • Transpoship is not responsible for shipments arranged outside its platform

10. Failed Deliveries & Disposal

If a shipment cannot be delivered or returned to the origin:

  • Courier partners may temporarily hold the shipment
  • Courier partners may dispose of it as per their policy

No compensation will be provided in such cases unless approved under claims policy.

11. COD Orders & Returns

  • RTO charges will apply if COD delivery fails
  • COD fees are non-refundable
  • Reverse logistics for COD returns may incur additional charges

12. Claims on RTO & Reverse Shipments

Claims for damage or loss during RTO or reverse transit are subject to the Claims & Liability Policy.

Compensation is governed by courier partner policies.

13. User Responsibilities

Users must ensure:

  • Accurate address and contact details
  • Proper coordination with customers for returns
  • Compliance with packaging and prohibited items policies

14. Limitation of Liability

  • Delays in RTO or reverse shipments
  • Failed pickups due to customer unavailability
  • Loss or damage beyond courier partner liability

Transpoship shall not be held liable for the above circumstances.
